EXHIBITION COLLABORATIONS
The exhibition concept of the DASMAXIMUM museum is designed to be permanent: "One artist, one space, forever," is the credo of museum founder Heiner Friedrich. The aim is to give visitors the opportunity to come back again and again and see the works of art at different times of the day and year, in different weather and light conditions. DASMAXIMUM is thus deliberately turning against a fast-paced exhibition culture and, in contrast, wants to enable intensive viewing and observation, the immersion in a single work of art. For this reason, there are no temporary exhibitions at the museum location in Traunreut. Nevertheless, there are treasures slumbering in the rich collection that are to be made accessible to the public. On the one hand, this is achieved through generous loans, and on the other, through numerous exhibition collaborations with renowned art institutions.
21-09-2018: Exhibition UWE LAUSEN at Kunstraum Innsbruck
Uwe Lausen's fantastic and disturbing visual worlds are still among the visitor favorites at the museum DASMAXIMUM. It is hard to believe that this artist almost fell into oblivion after his early death in 1970; after all, today he is one of the most important representatives of Pop Art in Germany. He left behind a multi-layered oeuvre that can be seen in no other place as extensively as in the museum DASMAXIMUM in Traunreut. A cooperation between the Kunstraum Innsbruck and the DASMAXIMUM Foundation now makes it possible ...

A satellite project of the DASMAXIMUM Foundation will take place in Polling near Weilheim starting on May 16: once the site of a flourishing Augustinian canon's monastery, one of the few remaining professorial buildings by Johann Michael Fischer (1692-1766) has been given a new use as an exhibition building there after extensive restoration. This summer, in cooperation with the MAXIMUM, large-format landscape watercolors by the American artist Joa Baldinger will be shown here.
08-2014: Dan Flavin in Upper Bavaria
One of Flavin's largest light works, Untitled (to Ksenija), is on view in the Kunstbau of the Städtische Galerie im Lenbachhaus Munich until September 7, 2014. Flavin developed this expansive installation two years before his death for the opening of the Kunstbau, designed by architect Uwe Kiessler, in 1994. Art patrons Heiner and Philippa Friedrich donated this outstanding work to the Lenbachhaus in memory of their parents, with the stipulation that it be shown at regular intervals. In it, Flavin takes up the architectural conditions and lends . . .
14-08-2014: Traunreut Trilogy: ArtContemporary, Industrial History, Vintage Cars
With the DASMAXIMUM KunstGegenwart Foundation, art patron Heiner Friedrich donated an art collection of international standing to the Chiemgau region. His father Harald Friedrich had founded the Alzmetall company in Altenmarkt after the war and produced the "Spatz" small car in the 1950s on what is now the museum site in Traunreut. In his private life, too, he had a passion for noble vehicles. A small selection from Harald Friedrich's classic car collection, including the Spatz and . . .
